Problems with security settings in flash?
I may be asking a silly question, but can't find the answer on my own yet.
Created an html file in Flash CS4 that has 2 buttons on it. When a button is selected, I should get directed to another html file that I've created. This process is something I've been doing in my job for a year now with no problem.
But now, using any browser (chrome, ei, firefox) the button won't take me anywhere? The button is there, shows up when moused over, but selecting it does nothing.. no error even.
If I launch the swf, I do get an error. It says that I'm going to 'unknown'. The error should show the address I'm pointing to, but it just says 'unknown'.
I know the address is right, the html/swf I point to works, it's in the same folder on my hard drive, but it just won't work.
If I go to settings from the error the swf reports, and all the file names to the security window, the swf and the html files work fine.
If I load the same files to our ftp and launch it through our lms system, it works perfect without going to my security settings!???
Our ISD dept cleared all the history and cookies on my PC last week trying to fix a different issue, and the problem has been there since then. He removed and reinstalled EI because of a problem where when launching an html file, certain swfs' would not load although they were being called in the xml.. and again, no errors! The program ran fine, but some screen were missing. Weird?!
Anyhow, before I pull out the rest of my hair, has anybody seen this before? Another developer in our dept has the same issue, but has just been working around it. I don't want to do that!
I have flash player 10 installed.
