I am using Windows 10 64 bit and am worried that come January 2021 my computer will cease to operate properly. Can anyone help with suggestions please ?

More information on how Microsoft will remove the embedded Flash Player in IE/Edge is available at https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2020/09/04/update-adobe-flash-end-support/

@nerd9452,

Are you pursuing some kind of world record in incomprehensible communication?  I ask because that's the longest run on sentence I've ever seen.

Flash developers had 3 years to convert to new technologies.  If they decided not to do it, that's their problem, not yours.

"I am using Windows 10 64 bit and am worried that come January 2021 my computer will cease to operate properly."

Your Win10 computer system does not require Flash Player to operate. So this is a non-issue.

There is nothing to use instead. If you still use a site that needs Flash Player, then at the end of the year that site will be useless. Millions of sites will be useless. However, most converted long ago: for example Youtube used to use Flash, and now it doesn't.

One way to check is to see if you are asked to approve Flash when you visit a site. No message, no Flash, no problem. But there will be pain and grief on many sites.

Hi

Thank you for replying to my post, I will take it that it's OK to
uninstall the flashplayer then, and cross my fingers the sites I use
don't need flashplayer to work.

Kind regards

That sounds like a good plan. Note that if you use Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Internet Explorer, they use a special Flash Player put in Windows by Microsoft, which you can't uninstall (yet!)
