Hi Sheena, I happened to see your response to an issue and I'm in the same boat.  I can't find a number or email so I tried chat.  the mechanical chat couldn't understand the cleary stated issue so I ask for a human.  It said it would connect me with an agent.  That was about a half hour ago.  All the screen says is that they are sorry that they are busy.  Maybe you can help me??

ISSUE Every time I download Adobe Flash Player updates, it also downloads a Mac Cleaner that I absolutely don't want. then I have to go to my own app and tell it to delete the Mac Cleaner app that I don't want and absolutely did not authorize... isn't that illegal? Your mac cleaner goes into my mac and looks at my data, that is way to intrusive.  SURE WOULD APPRECAITE ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE.

THANKS,

STANELY PLANT

Flash Player for Mac downloaded from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer does NOT contain any third party software.

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer is the only authorized location to download Flash Player from.  Any other site can be potentially harmful (e.g. contain bundled harmful software).

What website did you download Flash Player from?  I'll forward the URL to the appropriate folks to follow-up on.

Thank you in advance.

It sounds as if you are not installing the authentic Flash Player. Warning! You have probably been infected!

The only safe way is to go to http://get.adobe.com/flash

and to ignore every other pop-up from criminals trying to get you to install their malware instead.

Here is a news article about this: https://9to5mac.com/2018/04/25/fake-flash-installer-mac-crossrider/

The risk is so severe I recommend you wipe your Mac and delete everything on it, and start again. Back up what you need to keep, of course! But be careful you backup only YOUR files. If this is daunting, get professional help.  Adobe have no support for Flash Player (not even the real one). If you are willing to take the risk here is a page talking about removal How to Remove the New Mac Flash Malware 'Crossrider' - The Mac Observer
