Re-install Flash in IE problem

I recently ran a malware cleaner on my Windows 7 OS and it wiped Adobe Shockwave and Flash from both Firefox and IE.  With a great deal of effort, I was able reinstall both on Firefox (at least the Adobe test says the latest version is installed).

But I have been unable to re-install Adobe Flash on (the current version of) IE.  I have Shockwave Enabled and ActiveX unchecked.  After the Download, I see Version 20.0.0.270 and Windows 64-bit, English, MSIE.  After clicking on Run, I continually get the message “Application Initialization Error”.

Since Flash re-installed on Firefox, I have not gone to the trouble of uninstalling my anti-virus software.

Help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

I'm assuming you downloaded both installers (for Firefox and IE) from get.adobe.com/flashplayer.  Is this correct?

I am a bit confused by this statement "After the Download, I see Version 20.0.0.270 and Windows 64-bit, English, MSIE.  After clicking on Run, I continually get the message “Application Initialization Error”."

Where do  you see "Version 20.0.0.270 and Windows 64-bit, English, MSIE.:"?

As for the initialization error, please review the FAQ Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on Windows? and provide all files listed: FlashInstall.log, Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.log, so that we can troubleshoot the issue.

As an alternative, you can try using the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier page in the 'Still having problems' section, however, without the installation log files we can't troubleshoot why the initialization error is occurring.  There have been numerous posts on this, but no one has yet supplied log files, which hinders our ability to investigate and fix the issue.

    Thank you.

The answers to your questions are below each of them::

I'm assuming you downloaded both installers (for Firefox and IE) from get.adobe.com/flashplayer.  Is this correct?

Yes, all were downloaded from the Adobe website.

I am a bit confused by this statement "After the Download, I see Version 20.0.0.270 and Windows 64-bit, English, MSIE.  After clicking on Run, I continually get the message “Application Initialization Error”."  Where do  you see "Version 20.0.0.270 and Windows 64-bit, English, MSIE.:"?

I tried to attach a copy of the screenshot of the message, but the JPG format is "forbidden".

As for the initialization error, please review the FAQ Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on Windows? and provide all files listed: FlashInstall.log, Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.log, so that we can troubleshoot the issue.

I would like to attach the log file I found; but it is also "forbidden"

As an alternative, you can try using the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier page in the 'Still having problems' section, however, without the installation log files we can't troubleshoot why the initialization error is occurring.  There have been numerous posts on this, but no one has yet supplied log files, which hinders our ability to investigate and fix the issue.

I believe I have used every alternative mentioned above to no avail.

I appreciate your help attempt above.  I will try to attach the documents in an email rsponse.
