Recommended Workarounds for Keep Serving Flash Player Objects

Hi,

as Ministry of Education of Greece we maintain a repository of learning objects (for elementary education) in the url --> http://photodentro.edu.gr/aggregator/. Our potential users are all Greek Citizens. The whole content is OER (Open Educational Resources) with Creative Common Licensed.

Some hundreds of objects on the above site are based on Adobe Flash Player.

As we can guarantee for these objects being  virus-free , we try to find a recommended pattern so our users can continue using them even after Flash Player's eol.

Could we recommend in the above site the download and install of flashplayer beta (https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html) ?

 

Alternatively , as to our understanding, depending on user's OS they may face some issues with standalone installations, is there as a waorkaround an option for massive transformation of ALL flash objects to a (for example) .exe version?

    There are ways to get SWFs (Flash web files) into EXEs. Searching SWF to EXE comes up with tools. What I have used include:
    - If you have the FLA files that made the SWFs, and you have Flash Professional or Adobe Animate, the files can be opened and published to a self executable. It version of the FLA files and Flash Pro/Animate may impact the files being opened.

    - Adobe Director could import SWFs and create a EXE displaying the content. Director has been discontinued for a while and so does not support later versions of SWF content. 

    The best option as has been mentioned by others over many posts here, is to convert the Flash content ito another format - like HTML5.

      No, all versions of Flash Player still available will close down. They will not be available at all after EOL.   It is too late for workarounds. There is no converter, that is why there was three years notice given to do the work.
