Rita's Dilemma

Hi:  Couldn't read all your possible solutions due to recent eye surgery, but need to know the following.  Have 22.0.0.192 on my Windows 7 PC, which they say is latest.  It tells me to save my PDF bank statements and PDF attachments received in emails which I do.  It goes into my download section and just SITS there.  No way to see it or to print it out.  I'm no computer expert, but I've been computing and working with ADOBE ACROBAT a long long long long time.  I'm going to be 84 years old this month, and I started long before Windows 95.  LOVED Windows XP -- it was easy to use, and had beautiful fonts and the colors were true.  Microsoft discontinued service, so my GURU who gave me Windows 7 then ran out of town and left me with many situations I couldn't resolve.  Main concern now is that I downloaded the USER'S Manual for a new kitchen range as my old range blew up and supplier did not give me a manual.  I need this manual to operate the range, or else my family will starve.  Can you give me a simple step by step link as to how to unload this download so I can do a lot of computer work I still have to do before the Good Lord calls me home.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

That Flash Player is interesting and useful. Keep it. But it has nothing to do with your wish to read PDF files. I gave you instructions for that. If I'm not clear please say so but please READ ALL I WROTE and say what isn't clear.

Until you've installed what I said your PDF files will, indeed just sit there.

    Hi ritak23880792

The dot version provided by you is of Adobe Flash Player application.

If you referring to uninstall this application, refer this KB doc  Uninstall Flash Player for Windows  and download the uninstaller for the Flash player.

Then refer the steps provided in this KB doc to uninstall the application from your system.

Hi Meenakshin 83966505:  Thanks for replying.  It's not a matter of uninstalling any program.  I have the ADOBE ACROBAT FLASH PLAYER, VIEWER, READER  or whatever they said I needed to be able to view, see on my screen and print my PDF statements or email PDF attachments, and my system tells me this is the latest.  I need some WHATEVER THEY CALL IT, to be able to get this information.  My XP Windows was able to have me do this, but this Windows 7 program doesn't.  So what I'm asking of you experts is to tell me how I can be able to see these PDFs, and print them for record purposes.  No uninstalling.  Thank you.

I'm afraid you're going to need to understand the details. Acrobat Reader is one app, Adobe Flash Player is another. You must use the right one for the right job.

You say you want to read PDF. For that you need Acrobat Reader, once called Adobe Reader. You can get it from http://get.adobe.com/reader . Now, this will offer "free" software. This will be a real nuisance for you be SURE you turn that off or don't click to download at all.

If you need any help with the install let us know EXACTLY WHERE YOU GET TO. Messages and stuff. May seem like meaningless junk but it's what helps the gurus understand what is going on. And remember, WE CAN'T LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER so you have to tell us everything! Good luck.
