Safari Not Running Yet Installer Telling Me to Quit

I assume you're on a Mac, since I'm one of about three people I know who use Safari for Windows and openly admit it.

Here's the thing:

Unlike WIndows, closing the Safari Browser window (or nearly ANY aplication window for that matter) DOES NOT quit the app. You can see the little "light" under the icon in your dock to indicate it's still running.

When you're installing Flash Player for Safari, you need to QUIT the app (Cmd+Q) before it can install.

safari was not running. i ran the installer before safari had even been started in the first place. but thanks for trying 5 points given!

Okey dokey, next phase

Download the offline installer if you don't have it already

Quit Safari

(Reboot if necessary - but it shouldn't be necessary)

Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins

Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there

Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe

Trash the entire Flash Player folder from there

Empty the trash

Mount the DMG and run the Flash Player installer

Relaunch Safari
