Question

Seeing the message, New Flash Player Required

On a web page, using IE 11, I am seeing the message, New Flash Player Required.  Yet, according to the Adobe site which tests Flash installations, I have the latest Flash installed. I have cleared my IE 11 cache.  Deleted all temporary files.  Restarted.  Uninstalled/re-installed Flash.  Nothing has worked.   Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Thank you,

Doug

    Hi,

What os are you using?  What version of Flash Player do you have installed?

What is the link to the page that you are seeing this message on?

    Hi Maria,

My computer is running Windows 7, Adobe Shockwave Player 12.2.4 r194, Flash 21.0.0.182.

The web page which is displaying the "New Flash Player Required" message is stored on at a company website and you will not be able to view that page.

So far, my company's Help Desk has been unable to resolve the problem.

    Any thoughts/suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Doug

    Hi,

If Flash Player is detected on other websites, but not this particular page, I suspect the issue is with Flash detection on that particular page or with how IE is identifying itself.  For assistance with Flash detection, see Flash Player detection, installation, and administration | Adobe Developer ConnectionInternet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.

You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
