Hi furman13

The screenshot posted is not a Flash Player error message.  Flash Player installer doesn't have a 'green bar'. Actually, the color green is not present in the Flash Player installer branding.  What is the name of the file you are using to install Flash Player?

Please explain the issue clearly.  Your current description is a bit confusing.

Hi furman13

adobe_flash_player.exe is not the name of any of the installers posted on adobe.com.  The screenshots you posted are not of the official Flash Player installer.  We offer two installers: online (shim) installer that downloads and installs Flash Player silently in the background and the full/offline installer.  Here are screenshots of both:

online/shim installer:

offline/full installer:

As you can see your screenshots look nothing like this.  A Google search of the file name adobe_flash_player.exe results indicate this is potentially a virus or malware.  Unfortunately, you downloaded a malicious Flash Player installer.  Adobe does pursue sites that host malicious/impostor Flash Player installers.  If you the link to the website that you downloaded this installer from, either send it to us at phishing@adobe.com and include the file name and screenshots (which clearly indicate it is not an official Flash Player installer) or private message it to me.  To send a private message, click on my user name link and then on the 'Message' button link.  I also recommend performing a complete scan of your system for virus, malware, adware, etc.  Essentially anything malicious as it's possible your system has been compromised.

To install Flash Player for Firefox, do the following:

  1. Launch Firefox and navigate to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
    • The site will auto-detect the operating system and browser and automatically offer the appropriate plugin.  In this case Flash Player NPAPI for Firefox/Safari
  2. Note that the download page has optional offers displayed.  If you have JavaScript disabled or certain add-ons like NoScript, Ghostery or similar, the middle pane displaying the optional offers does not display.  Make sure JavaScript is enabled and these other add-ons are disabled.
  3. Click Download now button to download the installer
  4. Locate the downloaded Flash Player installer saved locally and double-click to launch the installer
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation
  6. A few notes on the update options:
    • Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended): opts the system into background updates.  The system regularly checks for an update and automatically installs it when it's available - usually within 24 hours of a new version being released and the system has an internet connection
    • Notify me to install updates:  Flash Player periodically checks (default is 7 days) for an update and displays an update notification dialog (upon system reboot/login) window when an update is available. User can install the update, or ignore the update.  If user ignores the update, Flash Player will check again (usually in 7 days) and notify that an update is available.
    • Never check for updates (not recommended):  Flash Player does not check for updates.  User must check for updates and install them.

Never download software from random sites.  Always go to the website for the company that develops the software you wish to install.
