Shockwave Adobe Flash 10.2.152.32 only plays in one 'user account'

Shockwave Adobe Flash 10.2.152.32 won't play anything imbedded using *my* User Account in WinXP SP3(for ex.: items on HuffPost/none of Hulu/no  streaming radio stations' broadcasts listening functions, eg, 'radioplayer' and 'mediaplayer' in these sites'  windows' addies/ no Vimeo (for ex.: someone streaming a view of a backyard bird's nest). YouTube is not a problem at all.
Firefox 3.6.14 ; 32-bit  OS
Flash stopped working on my "user account" in XP when i updated Flash two days ago March 8 2011 AND then updated to IE 8 (from 6)(which we don't use) and also to SP3 for WinXP (from SP2)(not Pro). All the Microsoft updating took about an hour, maybe longer.
Turning off Hardware Acceleration had no effect.

Uninstalled and re-installed the Adobe Flash Player from Adobe's site.
Adobe plays any and all on the DH's user account, but nothing plays on my "side".
I have administrator status and all that.
Checked many FFsettings for allowing javascript, popups, internet zone medium security, etc.
NoScript to allow all or just the strictly needed, in attempts to diagnose this prob, when on a webpage.
Shockwave Flash in Add-Ons is "enabled" bec I noticed yesterday that it was somehow disabled.
Shut down and restarted three times while allowing it plenty of time to do so properly.

MS Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin 1.0.0.8 in my add-ons, also.
"HTML5 Extension for Windows Media Player Plug-in 1.0" in my Add-ons.
AVG Antivirus Free Edition 2011.
Using Sandboxie; however, I use Firefox without the sandbox and do restarts (and i'm careful to save stuff from the sandbox when closing etc)  when adding.
Turned off the Windows firewall at one point while trying to get video/streaming to play after all my updating resulted in this problem.
Curious as to why the plug-in says "Shockwave Flash 10.2.152.32 with that little 10.2r152 underneath" but the version # i installed refers to *Flash Player* not Shock...blah,blah 10.2.152.32 when I obtained it-- is this just terminology quirks or different things?
Thank you for your time; I read many posts to see if any were like my prob, couldn't find one.

Hi,  So you have XP/SP3 and using IE8 and FF. I'd not update to the FF 3.6.15 yet since that may complicated matters further.

However, updating from IE6 to IE8 and Installing the SP3 are both major updates. One of those could have caused the glitch in Flash Player, since it works in the browsers. So it's logical that you would have had to Install FP again into IE8.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back the files listed there. The NPSWF files will need to be Opened with a Right click and then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.

Using IE, go to Tools, Manage Addons and under "Show"(very light text) is Shockwave Flash Object Installed, Enabled and is it version 10.2.152.32?

Using FF, go to plugins and is the  Shockwave Flash plugin Enabled?

The Shockwave Flash Object and the Shockwave Flash plugin are the Controls for Flash Player.

Let's make sure we have Flash Player and the required browser addons correctly Installed before addressing the other issues.

    Thanks,

    Yes, let's!

    1. In addition to the logs files, there were these:
           10.2.152.32  (Shockwave Flash 10.2 r152)(Internal Name: Adobe Flash Player 10.2)(Original File Name: npswf32.dll )

           flashplayer.xpt
           Flash10n.ocx                  ActiveX Control
         FlashUtil10n_ActiveX.dll     Adobe Flash Player Helper 10.2 r152
        FlashUtil10n_ActiveX.exe    Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.2 r15
        FlashUtil10n_Plugin.exe     Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.2

    2. Yes, SFO "enabled" and the right ver.#, and seems to be installed, I poked around that screen a bit to see if something actually used the word "installed", but doesn't just bec of the way they structure the window&words used  ...indeed, I can play Hulu stuff, a radio stream, and the Vimeo stream of hummingbird plays just great(so beautiful. www.ustream.tv/hummingbirdnestcam).  But not on my Firefox browser, which is the problem for me.

    3. Plugin enabled on FF. It says "disable" . This said "enable" when I checked it yesterday when the prob first revealed itself, so I enabled it at that time.

    4. I went to that test page -while on Firefox- where I saw the red "F" graphic animation, and it showed the version # 10.2.152.32 "successfully installed" .

My DH wondered if it could have updated incompletely, as in not the whole SP ?? It says SP 3 and IE 8 on the Help/"about" dialogue boxes.

IE 8 works perfectly with the streaming aspect, Hulu, etc,...as well as YouTube which has not balked in *either* browser. Just to make it interesting.

Sorry for the slow response...had to show up for dinner; I know it's late where you are.

Hi, Now I'm running behind:-) I think everyone posts when they can; the Forum was down for a time. No problem on dinner either, LOL A User only needs to reply to me(or another helper) I have many to reply to that have replied back to me!!

Your Flash files for IE & FF are correct and appearing to be vs 10.2.152.32. The Shockwave Flash Object and Enabled with the correct vs also.

Am I correct in thinking that you are not having any problem with IE in either Account?

The way FF lists the disable/enable for their plugins is confusing! I like IE's way of doing it.

If SP3 did not Install fully, believe me you would have known it long before this, LOL You would not have been able to use your computer at all.

Now, when you Installed Flash Player after the SP3/IE8 upgrade, did you use the Administrator Account for both the Install for IE and FF? Also did you use the Adobe Uninstaller first?

When you went to the test site, did you use both accounts to test with IE & FF? That should be done.

What exactly happens when using FF? Using the Admin. Account & Using another Account? I need to understand what is happening.

    Let me know,

    Thanks,
