Shockwave keeps crashing in Google Chrome

This has happened on and off for me for the past two years. But it's probably happened a few hundred times, sometimes more than a dozen times in a day. It occurs at random times. Sometimes I can view a page, read an article but I don't close the tab...an hour later, I'll get a notice that Shockwave has crashed even though there was no problem before.

I've updated Shockwave, no change. I'm told that Google Chrome automatically updates Google Chrome but obviously there is a glitch there.

I think it's an issue with Google Chrome but their Help pages say to come HERE for help. Unfortunately, I've found nothing useful here except for people reporting the same problem and no answers.

Details: I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1; 64-bit operating system; Google Chrome Version 24.0.1312.57; Flash Player Version 11.6.602.167.

Since you cite a Flash Player version but not a Shockwave Player version I'm guessing you're talking about the plugin for Flash content and not that for Director content. If so, you'd be better directing your question to a Flash Player forum
