Shockwave shutdowns

Ever since downloading shockwave to my flash player, it has crashed and shut off my computer repeatedly, virtually every day, sometimes every few minutes.  I have to restart once or sometimes twice to continue my work only to have it reoccur.  I tried uninstalling shockwave then reinstalling adobe flash, hoping I would no longer have shockwave as part of the download, but it still crashes and the screen tells me shockwave plugin has stopped working.

iT CONSTANTLY CRASHES IN FIREFOX ALSO, THIS QUESTION REMAINS UNANSWERED SINCE 2013.

Why does Adobe refuse to FIX or EVEN answer questions about the constant crashes of Flash/Shockwave crapware.  There is NO way to even contact any sort of tech support.  There are many UNANSWERED variations on this in this useless "Forum." which, it appears, has little or any Adobe answers.  The update today, Oct 13,2018, crashes just as often as the yesterday's version.

EITHER FIX THE DAMN SOFTWARE, ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OR GIVE US AN ALTERNATIVE TO THIS UNRELIABLE CRAP.

If you are using Chrome as your browser, there is an easy fix.  Yes, it does say Shockwave Flash, but it really has nothing to do with Shockwave.  Google Chrome has it's own Flash, and when you load another Flash, it conflicts with the Chrome Flash, so you need to disable that.  This page will tell you how to do that.

Sorry, I have no idea what you mean by that; Shockwave Player and Flash Player are two completely different things.

What is your operating system & version?

What is your web browser?

What is crashing: Shockwave Player, or Flash Player (Shockwave Flash)?

Hmmm. Well, I have Windows Vista, and all I know is that frequently while using my computer, it freezes, and the window that occurs informs me that the shockwave plugin has crashed. Often the computer suddenly turns off and I have to restart. When it simply freezes, I have to shut it down and restart it myself to get it to begin operating again. In fact, I often have to shut it down, restart it, then shut it down again and restart it again before it will cooperate. Even more frustrating, it often shuts off again moments later. And when that happens I can almost count on it continuing to shut down every few minutes. I tried to get help by contacting shockwave directly with questions, and received a reply that shockwave was a product available only through Flash Player. That is why I contated you for assistance. Now that I've read your reply, I'm more confused that ever. Who is responsible for this product?

I don't really remember how it came to be that a couple of months ago (that's only a guess) I had my computer suggest I download (or upgrade; again I can't remember) to Shockwave, and I clicked on accept (or whatever), thinking it was something I would have to have to keep my system and/or media viewing operating optimally.

At any rate, do you have any insights into this, or suggestions as to what I might be able to do, or who I might try to contact, to remedy all of this?

Can you give me a link to a sample page where this happens?  This way I can check if it is Shockwave Player or Flash Player that is causing your problems.
