still getting prompted to update flash when it's set to automatic updates.

Question

Using Windows 8.1. I've always had Flash set to update automatically, but every few weeks or so I still get prompted to go online to download and install the latest version. Then I read the bottom of this article which talks about being notified of "scheduled updates", which is counter productive to the option of updating automatically.

Not sure if the problem is on my end or not, but it appears video sites use the very latest update of Flash so even if I cancel the scheduled updates, the video sites won't play.

Maybe an option to automatically install scheduled updates as well?

Hi kevinv32 ,Opting into background updates doesn't disable notification updates. If you're opted into background updates, but are still being notified to update it indicates there's an issue with the background update system. Please do the following:Enable Background Update verbose logging:Add SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging=1 to the mms.cfg file saved at C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. If this is a 64-bit OS, the mms.cfg file is saved at C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\FlashWait for 24 hours to lapse and then upload the FlashInstall.log file saved at C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash directory to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at How to share a document​. If this is a 64-bit OS, the FlashInstall.log file saved at C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash is also required.Post a screenshot of the Flash Player Settings Manager > Updates tab: Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Flash Player > Updates tabThank you.--Maria
