Still Stuck with Flash

Many, many installations starting with the auto-download from the Adobe site, all of which seem to install OK without error, however, when I go back to the National Geographic website the videos don't run, say I need to upgrade Flash.  I have uninstalled and started clean, but no change in outcome.  Mac desktop running 10.6.  any ideas?
