Hi there,

We have implemented a flv player on our site by getting it developed from some x person. On rare instances members of our site are facing the problem that they are unable to watch the movie clips and in the top left corner red color film folded strip keeps flickering. what do i do to watch the films?

We have injected the player from client side using the swfobject.js commonly available. Our custom message is not displaying and instead the abov FLV in the top left corner is getting display. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Here is a test url (ignore the overall ugliness of the site, I was going by specific client directions)

    http://www.cpo00.com/design/skilshop_main/

Again, seems to work fine in Firefox, Safari and even IE 6 and 7 on occasions, but in rare instances IE 6 will have the flickering film strip thing.

Do you have test URL's? How about a screen shot of the 'flickering filmstrip'?

    Hi there,

One more clue. If we try to take a screen shot it does not comes into it. Background text of message that we have written when the flash player is not installed on the client machine comes into screen shot. I have told every one to take a picture using some digital camera and send it to me. But thing might take couple of days.

Many thanks for paying attention to the issue.

    Thanks

I was just about to post this same exact issue. I'm a web developer and the client's site I'm working on seems to work on everyone's computer platforms (both Mac and PCs) and browsers ( Firefox, Safari 2 & 3, IE 6 and 7) in our office EXCEPT my boss' (of course) who is also using IE 6 with the latest flash 9 plugin. He gets the same top left corner, red film strip flickering.

Strangely enough, we went to a competing site that uses the [apparently] same Flash 9 movie format, about the same size and even in the same location in the browser and it works fine for him!

Looking forward to any insight or pointers in the right direction.

    Hi there,

I am also struggling with the same issue. Biggest probelm that i am having is i have not faced this problem in any of the PC where i have approach to. This has happening to couple of our web site users and they have logged compalint with us. If you could find that your Boss's PC does have any toolbar or some special flash utility installed that could be helpful for both. You can reach me at sankhanna@msn.com or sankhanna@gmail.com

    Thanks
