Strategizing to Rework eLearning Content Currently Using Flash

Our team is aware of the 2020 retirement of Flash.  Can you give us a more specific date?  We have roughly 1 year's worth of work that we need to do to update our current training modules.  Can we expect our current Flash-reliant modules to work through the END of 2020?  Dec 31, 2020?  We'll need to request funding and resourcing to make those updates in time to avoid client impacts and dissatisfaction.  Dec 2020 is right around the corner for us.

    Jaimie,

    Your best bet is to get your content converted to a new system. If you have access to the content, an easy way to remake it would be with www.quest.ai which outputs to HTML5 that works on all modern devices and browsers. As the last person mentioned, flash files that rely on the flash plugin to run are going to run you into trouble very soon. I'd try to recreate these files in another system ASAP.

      You have much less than a year. It is browser dependent; the browsers will shut down Flash before Adobe do. Normal Firefox users will lose flash "in 2019", so sometime this year, probably before the end https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2017/07/25/firefox-roadmap-flash-end-life/ . Chome. Edge, Internet Explorer, Safari: each has a different roadmap, or multiple roadmaps, and there is the public intent of making it REALLY ANNOYING for users who try to use Flash until then, so they bug you for immediate remedies.
