Stuck in perpetual "update" messages and Downloading Flash Player process

An app said I needed to get/update Flash Player to see their animated e-cards. It looked like I could update and I downloaded something up to version 22 - and still keeps going - and I still can't view cards on the e-card app. I finally was able to close adobe from my screen but here are multiple icons on home screen. Tried help sites but don't understand them.
