Successful install still doesn't work :-(

I successfully install Adobe Flash Player version 11 but websites do not recognize that I have it [e.g., still cannot see Google Streetview]

I run Windows 7, Internet Explorer 10.

I have also updated Java successfully and restarted and ensured both programs [adobe flashplayer & Java] are enabled.

Again today I downloaded Flashplayer 11; install is "successful" but still not recognized by flash sites like Google Street View (amongst others).

Step 1 says I should see the flashplayer version on my computer appearinig in the box. Box is blank.

Appreciate the assist.

P.S. Java is not required to install or run Flash Player. But JavaScript (which is something entirely different) must be enabled in the browser.
