Successfully Install Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235

Can anybody PLEASE help me install Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235? I can download it, but everytime I try to install it I get a message 'a newer version is already installed (but it is not) & the install moves to Finish. I try to use applications from the Web (ex. Yahoo Avatars) And am told 'We're sorry,this application requires the latest version of macromedia Flash Player' & I am directed to Adobe to download Flash Player 11.2.202.235. I have looked in my Computer's Program & Features & there is NO Flash Player of any kind installed or listed in Programs & Features. I do, however, have Adobe AIr 3.3.0.3560, Adobe Reader X 10.1.3 & Adobe Sockwave Player 11.6.5.635. PLEASE someone tell me how to SUCCESSFULLY install Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235!!!!
