.swf Files Sound Looping

Every time I try to use .swf files (be it in Chrome, Internet Explorer, VLC, MPC, or any other .swf player) I have issues with sounds looping over and over until it all becomes one garbled mess. I don't know if this is a problem with my Flash Player settings or if this is a problem with Windows 10, but I can't figure out how to fix it for the life of me and would like some help. It would be much appreciated if anyone could help me out here, thanks.

We have been testing, but have not completed all phases as we are getting ready for a release ourselves.  From what we have tested so far, though, the sound looping issue has not presented itself.

I wanted to let folks know that I'm hoping to have a private test build available for you to try tomorrow that we believe will address this problem.  I'll touch base with this thread before the end of day with a link or an update.

And a special thanks to everyone that has emailed me with details on this this is impacting you and your customers.  This information has been very helpful for us and we appreciate you taking the time to reach out.

Thanks,
Chris

We've released a new beta of Flash Player that we believe fixes the following two bugs:

  • Bug 4101067‌ - “Unable to play local swf files in Flash Player 20 using 'file' protocol”
  • Bug 4098809 - “VB6 Fusion Charts not loading in Flash Player”

If you've been impacted by one of these bugs, please try the beta out and let us know if it helps or you see other issues.

We still have one critical sound bug (Bug 4103304‌ - “Timelines with multiple layers are unable to stop playing sound”) that we are currently working to resolve.  We had hoped to get a test build out today but our internal testing found that we hadn't fully solved the problem.  We're actively working on a new fix and I'm hopeful I'll have something to try in a few days.

I know you guys have been impacted by the sound problem and as soon as I hear back from QA that our build passes, I'll be posting to let you try a private release.

Thanks,

Chris

Just add another voice to this discussion, we are also having this issue.  Our customer support has been inundated with calls.  We need a solution from Adobe ASAP, please.

Thanks for the reply, Chris.  Can you tell me where this is on the radar for your developers?  My Customer Support team is not able to handle all of these reports regarding the sound looping.  I have well over 100,000 users daily and close to 4 M users all together who are having issues.  These are mainly students.  Downgrading their version of flash is not an option.

If this is something low on your radar, please let us know quickly.  We have begun exploring workarounds and would appreciate anything you can suggest.  It is simply not an option for this to continue for us and our customers.

This issue is affecting our products severely. Possibly even dangerous if people have headphones on when the looping starts. The thread linked above is for the ActiveX Embedding issue, is there a dedicated thread for Bug#4103304 - The update of Flash Player 20.0.0.267 caused horrible sound and instability problem in my app scaring user…
