Dear All,

When I go to the website http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and try to download the latest adobe flash player, the 'picture' with the comments '

Background - Its a windows 7, sp1, 64 bit, IE10 laptop. The websites like youtube was working fine. I did some changes such as, downloaded the english language pack and configured the windows from german to english, uninstalled the mcafee anti virus since it was expired and downloaded the avira free antivirus successfully and ran the scan. Everything worked fine except for the online webistes which require the flash player. I uninstalled all the old adobe related programmes but still I am not getting the download option from the adobe website. Even tried to install the adobe manually through a pendrive but an error appears 'only a single instance of this application can run'.

Thanks

I don't know why some (many, actually) people cannot see the Download button.  I can see it.

    Anyway download the offline installers

    for Internet Explorer: http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_active_x.exe

    for other browsers: http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin.exe

Thank you for the reply. I will try to download for the above website tonight. Another question - I wanted to upgrate to google chrome and when I click on the 'download chrome', there is no response from the browser. Is it because I do not have flash?

Sorry to ask too many/irrelevant questions...

I used to get "Update was unable to connect to the server" all the time when I still used Chrome. I'd have to unintsall and reinstall to update it, but that's not the reason I stopped using Chrome. It's extremely processor consumptive and unless you have a $5000 supergamer machine, it will eventually slow your system to a crawl with all the additional processes it runs for each new tab you open. What did it for me was when I ran an Adobe Premiere update and had to do a "hard restart" to finish it. Once Windows was up and running again, my processor cores were at 60% each, and I hadn't opened anything. I checked in the Task Manager and Chrome was running three processes (remember, I'd just rebooted from a hard shut down) and was taking 3/5 of each processor core. I'm an admitted control freak. I don't tolerate ANYTHING running on my system that I didn't initiate. That was the last straw for me. I unintsalled Chrome and I will never allow it on my system again.
