This is about Internet Explorer 8 and flash player

I spent about 8 hours trying to install flash player in Internet Explorer and got nowhere. Read all the feedback in the forum and did everything possible to install it. Uninstalled, reinstalled, changed permissions checked every setting in internet options and I finally gave up and installed Fire Fox and Flash installed right away. That tells me its not Flash in any way, its Internet Explorer! If you are driving yourself crazy I would just install Fire Fox and be done with it. Thanks for all the input from Adobe who is trying to cope with this problem!

Lots of Luck

What is your Windows version, and is it 32-bit or 64-bit?  Also, are you using the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer?

Next, what files do you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash (or C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash if you have 64-bit Windows) ?

Then, in Internet Explorer | Tools | Add-ons, can you see Shockwave Flash object, and is it enabled?

If not (cannot find it), can you check if you have the "kill-bit" set in your registry: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3432049#3432049 ?  If yes, use this method to remove it: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3434922#3434922
