Tired of installing Flash Player 10 over and over and over again!!!!!!

Why do I have to keep installing Flash Player 10?? Every time I go to a site that uses Flash, it tells me I need the newest Flash Player. I click the link, install it, and everything works great...until...I close windows and come back later when it makes me repeat the whole thing again. Adobe won't give me the time of day when I try to talk to them. I've resintalled it about 50 times. I've uninstalled it per tech support instructions who told me to install version 9. I specifically asked if it will then tell me I need version 10. He assured me it would not. The next time I went to Youtube...guess what. I'm told I need to download Flash Player 10!

Using Windows Vista and IE8

Possible you have x64 version And Adobe Flash player doesn't support x64 IE version under Windows.

Hi, well I'm not a "Tech", but I wouldn't tell you to install vs 9, unless you were using Windows98 and IE4 or 5:-)

I have several threads open right now, take a look at some of them. I'd probably ask you the same questions.

    Just a suggestion.

    Thanks,

I would need you to post back your Flash file versions, SWO in add ons, Security and Firewall you use, etc.

Especially the Flash files to see what is installed and what isn't and the SWO info.

You may want to check your Java versions in Add/Remove or Programs & Features.

Why do you think the Tech told him to install version 9?

What thread links do you have open to help us out?

    >I would need you to post back your Flash file versions, SWO in add ons, Security and Firewall you use, etc.<

    1. What is SWO?
    2. I have Adobe DLM(powered by getPlus(R) 1.6.2.63 which then underneath says

"The getPlus(R) Download-, Upload- and Installation Manager is a sophisticated tool for an efficient distribution of digital goods."

This is interesting because from the Adobe Naviation menu under Support>Forums>click on the Flash icon that says "Adobe Flash Player"> and refer to USER POST: betsyg3 "We can't watch videos without adobe flash" where a link is suggested to show you which version you have. The suggested link says "Do you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?" there is a  list that shows what version you should have that looks like this:

    Platform Browser Player version
WindowsInternet Explorer (and other browsers that support Internet Explorer ActiveX controls and plug-ins)10.0.45.2
WindowsFirefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera (and other plugin-based browsers)10.0.45.2
Macintosh - OS XFirefox, Opera, Safari10.0.45.2
    LinuxMozilla, Firefox, SeaMonkey10.0.45.2
    SolarisMozilla10.0.45.2

and right above it there is a box that shows what version you have yet the version it says on the addon page is not the version that is on that link.

Refer to a post i made about this at this link if you desire more context:

I have been looking over this information and having similar problems. This issue is a privacy issue and needs to be resolved.

I had another conversation with a buddy of mine:

    (19:42:33) Chris_Stapleton:

    flash is not working
    (19:42:36) Chris_Stapleton:
and there is some odd stuff going on with the support website and their adobe download manager DLM

    (19:50:46) my friend:
    dang

    (19:51:31) Chris_Stapleton:
i heard there was a privacy issue about if you dont upload to the newest release of Flash then people can access information stored on your computer through your cookies that Flash uses
    (19:51:44) Chris_Stapleton:
but it wont install and is having problems
    (19:52:02) Chris_Stapleton:
    actually let me rephrase
    (19:52:05) Chris_Stapleton:
    it installs
    (19:52:24) Chris_Stapleton:
but on their website they have this thing where it shows you which version you have after you have installed it
    (19:52:43) Chris_Stapleton:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    (19:52:48) Anthony Thomas:
    delete your cookies

which i have tried yet i haven't progressed to a conclusion because i am still writing this reply. Please let me know what information you have so we can get this resolved.

    Thanks and received.

Hey Chris, I don't understand why you are posting on this person's thread when you have started 2 of your own

respond to you any further on this thread. If you want to reply to my response to you on your own thread then do so.

Here is one of your 2 threads:

You don't get to come on someone else's thread and ask me to answer to YOU regarding what I am inquiring about to

another person on HIS OWN THREAD!
