So everything has been hunky dory until today when flash updated to the latest version, now any website that uses flash will not work the page hangs and constant flash plugin script crash messages pop on screen, nothing is then clickable and I have to use task manager to close the browser.

I'm using Windows 7 64bit.

My main browser if firefox NPAPI, I Did a few checks and PPAPI and Active X seem to be unaffected.

I've uninstalled flash, cleared out setting in both flash control panel and firefox, restarted machine and reinstalled but still the problem persists.

Well It only updated yesterday morning!!

As Stated I have already uninstalled and reinstalled flash, I've tried various times and still the fault happens, the page freezes then I get a grey box which appears for 1 second then goes on it's own and reappears every 5 seconds, nothing on the page is clickable it's all frozen.  I've tried disabling the protected mode also.

It appears from the screenshot that page is not fully loaded, are there more sites opened in other tabs on the browser having flash content?

    I couldn't reproduce the issue using Firefox 46/ FP 21.0.0.242 / Win 7 64 bit/ URL BBC Weather - London .

Mozilla's crash data only shows 3 similar reports over the last week.

I'd recommend uninstalling Flash Player and reinstalling, to see if that solves the issue.

    Uninstall Flash Player - Windows:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Then download Flash Player from here:

Heres a firefix report on a crash, looks like the flash file npswf is causing the crashes?

A link to the actual crash report would be really helpful, but a search for crashes with the signature F_121813594 turns up a total of 18 crashes, and most of those are from the same machine.

If you haven't rebooted since the update, that might be a great place to start.  We don't want to inconvenience Firefox users by making them exit the browser after ever Flash update, but the cost for that convenience is that sometimes Firefox will be in a weird state after a Flash update.  Given the low frequency, it feels like that kind of issue to me.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, just doing a right-click > copy link location from the about:crashes page and posting that here would be ideal.  It'll give me more confidence that I'm pulling the right data.

    Thanks!

What version of Firefox are you using?  Is it the 32-bit or 64-bit version?
