Question

trace stops working

for reasons that are not apparent, the trace function will stop working.

I am running in debug mode and I always see the usual sets of output:

     [SWF] Volumes:DATA:Flex Projects: .... etc

Sometimes I am able to get it to work again by 1) quitting the browser 2) cleaning the project (Project/Clean...) 3) quiting Flash Builder ... but sometimes even this doesn't help.

I have re-installed both the Flash Player and the Debugger ... and yet this problem continues to appear.

The most consistant method I've found for restoring the trace function is to quit Flash Builder, and then the first thing I do after reopening it is to Project/Clean.

I may have to repeat this process a few times, but eventually it works.

On another note, I have found no pattern to what causes the trace function to fail. The program does not have to crash. What's more, I'm still able to follow the code in the debugger ... just no trace function.

You might want to cross post this over on the Flash Builder forum (if you haven't already.)  You might run into others there that have either experienced this or know of a solution.

Could you please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Please post back with the URL so that others affected can add their comments and votes.

Thanks,

Chris

Thank you.  Any chance we could get a sample project that illustrates the problem?  If you'd like to keep it private, please feel free to email me at ccampbel@adobe.com.
