trouble downloading Adobe Flash Player and Reader

Microsof Office XP Standard 2000

Internet Explorer 8

Cipher 128 bit (unsure if it refers to connection speed)

Here is the message I got after trying to download Adobe:

" This file doesn't have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder Options Control Panel "

I don't know how to do it. Coudl you help?

    maybe your file download is corrupted..

    And you can download a clean installer for Adobe Reader from

    http://get.adobe.com/de/reader/enterprise/
