turn off flash?

unfortunatly Flash content is all over the web. Some of it I want to view most of it I want turned off.

My problem with flash, you open up a webpage and some anoying flash object (mostly advertising) starts up making very anoying noise that interfears with the audio that I am already listening to. Most of the time the flash object itself offers NO OPTION to turn the said noises off. NOR is there a way for me to stop flash player to stop playing the object in the browser itself.

How do I set flash to only start up when I desire it to do so?
If I hit one more website that has a very anoying flash object w/ sound that I can't turn off while I read the page, I am going to uninstall flash entirely from my main browser (firefox) completely, and if that doesn't work I will switch to yet another browser and not install flash to begin with.

So what would adobe loose out if they ignore this request? If this continues even more I will remove ALL adobe software from my system completely and use alternative players/readers in their place.

Yeah, I REALLY want a way to turn off Flash temporarily. Or where Flash content is only downloaded when we right-click the element on the website's page and say "yes, download this Flash".

Why not an option in Settings Manager?

I hate ads that throw sound at me immediately. And I hate visiting sites with tons of useless, slow to download & render Flash content. I'd rather keep Flash off most of the time, and only turn it on to visit particular sites I care about.

Send in a feature request to Adobe, see link at the bottom of:

I have the same problem. I can't even get the thing uninstalled using Firefox. It plays whether I try to cancel the "play" or "Loop". I's settle for removing the application since Adobe apparently has no interest in poeple stopping the app.
