"Unable to Check"

At 1040 EDT on Wednesday 27 Aug, I cannot update FlashPlayer.  When I try I see, this:  "Unable to check.  There was a problem [at] trying to check for available updates.  Check your Internet connection and try again."

Mt Internet connection works well.   (That is how I could type this, very-message!)

So need I simply wait?  Thank you.
