Unable to download 10.2 on OSX

Hello,

I am running mac os x 10.6 on intel macbook.

Its been couple of days I have been trying to download flash player 10.2 off the adobe website

but each time I download it I get the 10.1 installer.

I checked with the adobe site and it says I am running 10.1 and not 10.2.

I tried to download the installer from different sites including macupdate.com and download.com its no use, same result.

I tried to uninstall flash, re-install it, still its 10.1 .

On my Chrome browser, which installs flash automatically, the flash in that browser has been update to 10.2 and it works fine.

How come I click to download 10.2 from adobe.com but I get the 10.1 installer?

This kind of phenomenon has often be observed on systems within a corporate firewall, where downloads are cached.  However many times you try to download the latest installer, you will always get the cached version.  If this is true in your case, contact your network/security admins.

If not, try downloading the installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

Hi, It sounds as if the current version is not being Uninstalled completely. You can take a look at this site which has screenshots to guide you.

    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html

There are several selections you can make on the site, which will be helpful since it is for the Mac/browsers. When you are ready to Install, there may be a Google Toolbar offered and if you don't want that, UNcheck it.

    Thanks,
