unable to install flash installer

My memory is a little fuzzy on the series of events but I'm pretty sure this is what happened:

Flash was working fine last week. Got a notification that I could update Flash so I did. Got an error during installation (was probably this one but can't remember) so I uninstalled the current flash and tried again. I go to get.adobe.com/flashplayer and click on "Agree and Install." Redirected to thank you page and this error pops up:

Operating system error! (16291.103.506 - 42072312.80004005.FFFFFFF.00000000)

running Firefox on 32bit OS

I checked Mozilla's help center and was directed to this website:

    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

I was able to successfully install flash from this URL instead of the get.adobe.com URL

Hi, Glad to hear you have it taken care of. Yes that is our test site and it will tell you that a plugin is needed. Now that you have FP Installed, if you go back to that site, then you'll see the animation and have your FP version confirmed.

Thanks for reporting back, glad it was that easy:-)

Hi, I need to know what operating system you use, the version of IE if you are using Windows, is the system a 64bit? I know you said you are using the 32bit browser, but I need to know if the system is a 64bit.

Do you have Flash Player Installed in IE if applicable? What version of FF are you using? Any other browsers?

What is the Anti-Virus program do you use?

    Thanks,
