unable to install Flash Player on Windows 10 for Firefox

I'm unable to install Flash Player on Windows 10 for Firefox. I downloaded the FlashPlayer for Firefox NPAPI (for Windows 8/10), closed Firefox, and tried to run the installer. It fails every time with a 'connection error' and 'unable to install' message. I've been through the Flash Player help page, but didn't find anything helpful there.

Hi monicac9177540,

Do you have anti-virus software installed?  If so, which one?

Do you use a proxy server?


I'd like to get some log files from you to troubleshoot.  Please locate the following files in your system:

  • C:\Users\<YourUserID>\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe_ADMLogs - Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.og
  • C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash - FlashInstall.log
  • IF 64-bit OS: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash - FlashInstall.log

Gather all files and upload them to cloud.acrobat.com using the instructions at How to share a document or some other file sharing service that does not require a login to access.  Post the link to the uploaded files in your reply.

Note that if this is a 64-bit OS I need the FlashInstall.log file from both locations.
