Unable to update from 9.0.28.0 to 10.1.85.3

Hi everybody,

In reference of this topic, I would like to have more information on what to do with my antivirus, which is AVG Anti-Virus Free 9.0.864 . I have the same problem as GottaLuvPurple's one: in spite of installing the new version, it doesn't want to be installed. After reading this topic, I have the main steps in mind, but not with AVG. In AVG, I searched for protections I can desactivate temporarely and I only saw the resident shield which can be disabled.

Is there others protections which need to be disabled ? Before follow the steps in the other topic, I would like to be sure about the use of AVG in the resolution of this problem.

OS: Win 7 64-bit

Browser: Firefox 3.6.12 (I don't use IE)

Current FP version: 9.0.28.0 (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ tells me that)

    I have installed FP on countless computers with AVG free, and never had any problems (never had to disable AVG).

    Can you tell me what happens when you try to install FP 10.1?

    If I don't need to disable AVG, I'll try to follow this message when I'll have more time.

    But now, when I try to install FP 10.1, it happens that FP isn't updated. I launch the uninstall, who tells me I need to close Firefox (that's what I do): uninstall is success according to the app. Then I launch the install: success according to the app. I launch Firefox and verify on the "About FP" page: I always have the 9.0.28.0 FP version.

    What files do you have in C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash ?

    If you find NPSWF32.dll in there, what version and date is it?
