Question

Unable to upload Facebook photos with flash

When I try to upload photos to Facebook it says I have to have the current version of Flash Player, which I do. These are the error messages I am getting. "You aren’t running Internet Explorer in Windows 8", and  "Sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled." (which it is installed and enabled.)

Any Ideas?

Thanks

This is a known problem with Internet Exploder 11 and Facebook, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.

Firefox (from Mozilla)

Opera (from Opera)

Safari (from Apple)

Chrome (from Google)

ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

I am having the same issue.  So I added facebook to compatibility view and now instead of saying I am not running flash in windows 8, tells me I need to install it.  So, I click install and on Adobe site, it says its installed.  It is enabled. It was working yesterday, but not today.  I got a windows 8 computer for christmas last year, and am running IE11. Please advise?

I recommend using another browser. Personally I hate IE with all the fury I can muster. It's always been the "problem child" of browsers, and this latest version is no exception.

Firefox (from Mozilla)

Opera (from Opera)

Safari (from Apple)

Chrome (from Google)

ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.
