Unable to verify Flash Player installation

I have downloaded and installed Flash Player multiple times on my new iMac but when I try to verify it says not installed and there are no moving clouds on the verify image.

    If you're using Safari, ensure you have enasbled Flash on the site you want to view Flash content on.  See https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/enabling-flash-player-safari.html for more information
