unwanted adobe flash player

I keep getting a popup from adobe flash player saying a website wants to use adobe flash player but i don't, i have tried to cancel, delete, everything and it still keeps coming back, i can't even work on the web due to this, it stops me from proceeding until i close it, this is continual.....................help
