OS: Windows 7 64bit

Current adobe flash player version: 19

Hi forums, I would like to update the adobe flash player on my OS but have been unable to. I go to update from the update page [Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions ] and have installed for Firefox, Chrome and IE yet the version for my OS is still at 19 and doing some searching about on how to update the flash player on your own OS has so far been fruitless.

I am now asking here to see how I can actually update it for my computer.

Thanks.

EDIT: [Download Adobe Flash Player 26 Beta for Desktops - Adobe Labs] Is a standalone that works and will do for now. However I would still like to know how I can update the flash player on my computer.

Are there any errors when you install Flash Player, or does the installation complete successfully without error?  If there is an error, post a screenshot of the error (see How do I attach a screenshot?)

    Please do the following:

    1. Verify Flash player version installed for Chrome, Firefox, and IE (They each use a different type of plugin, so it's important to do this for each browser)
      1. Launch Chrome and navigate to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/about/
      2. What is the Version number listed in the Version information widget?
      3. Repeat for Firefox and IE
        1. Chrome, Firefox, and IE each

Provide the FlashInstall.log files for review:

    1. Launch Windows Explorer
    2. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
    3. Make a copy of FlashInstall.log file and rename it FlashInstall_32.log
    4. Navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
    5. Make a copy of FlashInstall.log and rename it FlashInstall_64.log
    6. Upload FlashInstall_32.log and FlashInstall_64.log to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at How to share a document
    7. Post the link to the uploaded files in your reply

Regarding your edit on the FP 26 beta,  what does "Is a standalone that works and will do for now."  mean?  Are you able to install the beta, but not the stable release from get.adobe.com/flashplayer?
