Updating Flash.ocx

Question

All of my Flash components are up-to-date with the exception of this component: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\Flash.ocx.

Can this component be updated, if so, how and, if not, can it be uninstalled or deleted without any degradation in performance?

This is being reported as an end-of-life item using a vulnerability scanning software I use to keep sensitive programs patched and protected from exploitation.

Hi,I'd like to get some additional information from you. Please provide the following:Launch IE and navigate to https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html. Click the 'Check Now' button. What is the resulting system inforamtion (OS, browser, Flash Player version)?Right-click on the file name, select Properties > Details and post a screenshot of the details tab.Thank you.--Maria
