Updating FP 10.3.x on Mac OS 10.6.7

In the past, with versions 10.2.x and before, I had read on installation instructions that is was best to uninstal the old version of FP before installing the new one.  Is that still the same with FP 10.3.x?

If you do delete the previous version, do the settings that you had in the System Preferences pane stay the same?

Thank you for your help.

This is my first time using this forum.

You shouldn't have to uninstall to upgrade to the latest version of Flash Player.

However, from time to time user's have encountered errors when updating at which point the next typical troubleshooting step is to uninstall first.   For the Mac we recommend following uninstall steps in the Troubleshoot Flash Player tech doc.

    Thanks,

Hi, It is advised to Uninstall the current version of FP prior to Installing the latest. Now I don't know about the Systems Preferences since I don't use Mac. However, what may occur, is that the Safari browser may need to be checked to be sure the Shockwave Flash plugin is Enabled. Sometimes an update to Safari can also cause it to become Disabled and needs checked also.

I do have an Uninstall/Install procedure for Flash Player and the Mac that I picked up from Apple if you would like to have it.

    Let me know.

There is another helper that normally helps on the Mac threads, and maybe he'll be on later.

    Thanks,
