Updating to Flash Player version 11.6.602.171 causes website to hang

My Flash Website is showing a Black screen after updating to Flash Player version 11.6.602.171. I have tried this on 3 different windows computers and with both FireFox and Explorer on each system. I still had 1 computer running Windows XP with an older version of the Flash player, and it worked fine today. I then tried upgrading this to version 11.6.602.171, and immediately got a black screen on my home page instead of of the normal content! I tried uninstalling this and going back to an earlier build, but this did not work. This problem now exists on 3 windows computers (all different video cards, 2 Windows 7 and 1 Windows XP).

The fact that I was able to reproduce the problem by updating an older version of the Flash Player, and immediately have this problem without rebooting or changing any other software tells me that there is a problem with version 11.6.602.171!

Please let me know what else I can do to completely remove this version of the player?

George

I'm confused.  You said "I tried uninstalling this and going back to an earlier build, but this did not work."  If the older version still showed the problem, then it's doubtful that the new version is to blame.  Instead, it could be that something else on your system was also updated around the same time.

Let's try doing a clean install to the latest 10.3 release using the steps below:

How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?

Where can I find direct downloads of Flash Player 10.3 for Windows or Macintosh?

Chris -

I have exactly the same problem.  I just bought a new computer and have flash version 11.6.602.171 installed.  I have Windows 8 and Firefox. When you go to a website running flash everything freezes for about 30 seconds and then the error icon comes on.  This is frustrating especially if you are on a site and there are ads using flash.   I think what George meant when he said "this did not work" is that it is impossible to remove the 11.6 version using the uninstaller.  I have tried and it does not work.  I would like to remove 11.6 and install 10.3

I will try your clean install above.  Note that it brings you to a website using flash and everything freezes up.
