Question

Upgraded and sad!

A few days ago but it seems like a lot longer I upgraded to flash9. It works in both firefox (latest) and Internet 6, though I just noticed that it's not in the list of Add-ons for Internet 6 when I opened the controls. But I keep getting an error message that macromedia cannot be found... I've been going around and around trying to find an answer. I've un-installed...re-installed. Tried installing an earlier versions 8 and then full screen wouldn't work. My system restore also wouldn't allow me to go backwards. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks in advance...

To what question? The screensaver issue or the debug player detecting errors in the code?

    Hi Raquii,

It appears that Andrew’s issue was related to an older screensaver (Andrew, please correct me if I’m wrong). The solution is documented here on the Adobe support site:

“Screen Savers that rely on older versions of Adobe Flash Player may not work”

    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402694

In regards to the issue your encountering, I ‘m guessing that you have the debug version of Flash Player installed, that is why you see these error messages. These errors would need to be addressed by the developer of the Flash application. (I just installed the debug version and I do see the error message on this particular website, again the developer of this website would need to fix this).

However, if you would like to avoid seeing these error message uninstall the debug version of Flash Player and install the regular Flash Player.

First download the uninstaller to your desktop from here

    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157

Before running this uninstaller, read the instruction and close all running programs.

    Run the uninstaller

Install the Flash Player from here:

    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

    Hi Andrew Dark,

If Flash Player 9.0.124.0 is installed and you are viewing Flash content you would see in the Add-on currently loaded ‘Shockwave Flash ActiveX Control Flash9f.ocx’. It sounds like the install failed....

After installing the latest version 9.0.124.0, do you see a ‘Flash9f.ocx’ file in this folder?

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

If needed, please open a FREE support case with Adobe here:

    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/

Reply with the case number and I can pick it up.
