Videos stop repeatedly????

Hi all,

firstly, I have Firefox 3.0.19

my operating system is 32-bit

and my flash version is WIN 10,1,53,64

As for my problem... wherever I watch a video (youtube, megavideo or any other site) after about 2:32 minutes it freezes.

When the freeze is over, count another 2:32 minutes then the video freezes again.

If a paused before the  2:32 minutes and replayed the countdown starts from the beginning.

In the past both the audio and the video used to stop together but now the video stops first then the audio takes another minute to stop.

Knowing that I load the whole video first then start watching it, so it's not buffering problem or something like that.

Thanks in advance

Hi eidnolb, I downed my security to Medium from "Internet Properties", right? and no I don't have any Avira add ons installed.

I checked some video sites, they are all working except Youtube. Maybe a bit more lucky shots than before, but still not working.

I forgot to say before something I noticed; In other sites, blogs and other sites like that, you might find a youtube video player, the one that looks like the old youtube video player, do you know what I mean? In such sites, I found that the videos are playing normally. If that might help!

Hi BR, I understand what you are saying about being able to watch the youtube videos on another site. Now on making sure the Internet Zone is set to Medium. Go to Tools, Internet Options. Click on the Security Tab & click on the Internet and it is there that you want the Zone set to Medium. Very important. When you finish that, then delete the Cookies, offline files and Temp files.

    Ok on Avira.

Now I want you to go to the TroubleShooting Guide and make sure your Settings for Javascript are correct.

I ran into a problem on my own computer Sunday evening with Java. So try to remember did you update(look in Add/Remove) Java to Update 21 from the Java site, or from a prompt that you received from them? Just make sure you have no Java in Add/Remove except Update 21.

Did you test with IE and FF here? Can you see the animation with both browsers?

We have Uninstalled and Disabled quite a bit, so I want to be sure nothing has been disturbed.

Then go to this site and clear the Java Cache, just follow the directions.

    http://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml

I've given you several things to do, so do each one and then let me know the results.

    Thanks,

As of updating my Flash player to 10,1,53,64 yesterday (Aug 6) I can no longer watch *any* videos, from anywhere (youtube, facebook etc)!

With Chrome (5.0.375.125) I get the "Unresponsive plugin: Shockwave Flash" dialog after some time, and if I try repeatedly it takes down Chrome entirely and I have to kill the processes from task manager.

With IE8 (32-bit, 8.0.7600.16385), everything simply locks up immediately and I have to kill IE8 from task manager.

Rumor has it that there is a problem with Flash 10 + W7x64 + IDT audio, all three of those are valid for me. Can anyone confirm this?

I uninstalled (from Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features) everything that had to do with Adobe Flash/Shockwave, and restarted my W7x64 laptop. Now vids work in Chrome!

I did not re-install new Flash, so obviously vids do not work in IE8, it just wants me to install latest Flash player, but NO-WAY I'm doing that. I rather have vids working in Chrome only, than not at all.

    Please clairfy.

    Thanks,

Yes, I do have this version of Firefox

Hi, thanks. Is there some reason you have not updated the FF version? Did you have the same problem with the previous version of Flash Player? If you have Flash Player Installed in IE, do you have that problem?

You could try turning off the hardware acceleration. Just right click on a video and click on Settings. Then Display Settings  and UNcheck it.

It is also recommended to update the graphic and video drivers to the latest versions.

    See if that works.
