Videos stopping every few seconds-Help

I have Windows Vista and use Internet Explorer 7. I downloaded Flash Player's newest version. Videos keep stopping during play every 3 or 4 seconds. Can someone tell me how to fix problem? This happens on such sites as You Tube, CNN, and CBS when trying to watch videos.

Hi there,
An example would be:

http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ac3_filter.htm

With these codecs normally your sound / movie works better.

Hi there,
Does this also happen when you play normal movies from your harddisk? I had a similar problem. It could be that you need to update some codecs.

Thanks for reply. I've never play harddiscs. This occurs when I try to watch a video i.e. news video online. What are "codecs"?
