Tried updating storage settings to 100kb or any other number for that matter and nothing will save, some things aren't even clickable when it looks as though they should be.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum; it is very rare that Adobe staff actually shows up here.

Well...the problem seems to be..at least to me that nothing will write to the adobe appdata folder.. and I have no clue why..

It must be some sort of permission problem, but you have already checked all permissions, so I am at the end of my wits.

Could it just be a new bug in the flash player? I have no idea what else to try myself.

It's not Flash Player; it's something on your system.  The last idea I have is to try http://fixitcenter.support.microsoft.com/

    Only to the C:\ drive?

Any local drive should be ok, but I don't know about mapped/networked drives.

So... any chance of a resolution? Any at all? *crickets*

Sorry, I have no more ideas - in the past, deleting those folders has always cured the problem.

Your %APPDATA% and %USERPROFILE% environment variables, do they point to a mapped drive by any chance?

P.S. was the Flash Player folder recreated in the %APPDATA%\Macromedia folder?

Yes it is recreated, just not in the flash player in the adobe folder... and the adobe folder is made with a capital A

The only additional thing I can think of is that there may be a permissions problem with that folder.  Can you check the permissions of that (new) Adobe folder (right-click | Properties | tab Security) ?

Since you mention IE I assume that you are on Windows.  Try the following

    • close all browser windows
    • open Windows Explorer
    • in the address bar type %appdata%\Adobe
    • delete the 'Flash Player' folder in there
    • in the address bar type %appdata%\Macromedia
    • delete the 'Flash Player' folder in there
    • close Windows Explorer and try again

Thanks for the tip, but sadly..did not work..search for the adobe file turned up an error message of it not being found, the macromedia search was successful and the file was deleted. This has been driving me crazy for about two weeks now. Is smashing my comp a good idea yet?

I have never tried that solution...  Let's try something else first.

You wrote that %APPDATA%\Adobe does not exist, so let's try to create it.

    • close browsers and open Windows Explorer again
    • type %appdata% in the address bar
    • create a new 'Adobe" folder here (from the File menu, New...)
    • close Windows Explorer and try again
