Webcam not recognized with Flash Player 11.8/11.9, works with 11.7!
I have a MacBook Pro now on OS X Mavericks 10.9. I am attempting to use an external webcam that IS recognized by the operating system as I am able to access it through QuickTime and FaceTime as well as it shows up on the System Information > System Report > Hardware > Camera.
My problem is that the external webcam is only supported on Flash Player 11.7 and not on either 11.8 or 11.9. The built-in webcam works fine on all three versions, but the Camera Settings in 11.8 and 11.9 only show the built-in webcam, whereas it shows the built-in AND external webcam under 11.7. I would just stick with 11.7 but Safari now requires 11.8+ and will not load any flash content using version 11.7. So for now I must use 11.7 and Firefox in order to access my external webcam.

I have done all the necessary updates, and uninstalled / re-installed as well as checked permissions and restarted as a means of troubleshooting.
