What is the Plug-In?

Hello. I keep getting a popup error message telling me that I need to install the Adobe Plug-in. I have no idea what this is about, and I can't find any info on it on the Adobe website. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions? Thanks.

It's possible the content you are attempting to view requires Flash Player. To be of better assistance, please provide the following information:

operating system, including version
browser, including version
direct link to content that triggers the pop-up dialog
