When Pushing Down Flash 24.0.0.221 It Pushes Flash 24.0.0.194

O/S  Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

IE version 11

I pushed down Flash Player Uninstaller (.exe via Windows Package Publisher)

Then pushed down latest .msi for Flash 24.0.0.221 as listed here: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution5.html

(First one for Active X)

I am able to successfully uninstall Flash Player (whatever version they had)

Then when I push this .msi, it shows up as version 24.0.0.194 instead of 221.

I go to verifty via the "Updates" tab and sure enough it reads as version 194

If I hit the "Check Now" button on the endpoint, it takes me to the version checker which definitely shows the flash player installed is out of date.

I have also been reading up on the background updater (.cab) file so wondering if this would help?

    Hi,

I am unable to reproduce. I've downloaded every file (exe, msi) on the distribution page and they all download version 24.0.0.221.  Both catalogs have version 24.0.0.221 listed as available for distribution and previous versions are not available for distribution.  With regards to the SCUP catalog, it's not possible to download the previous version via the catalog as it's no longer posted to the URL used by the catalog.  I suspect this is a caching issue on your system.  Version 24.0.0.221 has been available since 14-February and yours is the first report of this issue happening, which indicates an isolated issue.

Ok I did clear the Adobe Flash
Player on my test endpoint and used the uninstaller with the same results.  I think what is going on here is more in the
line of this (although this refers to Adobe READER and not FLASH):

    Hi,

What do you mean by "Ok I did clear the Adobe Flash Player on my test endpoint".  If you are downloading the installer from the distribution5 page, please try clearing the browser cache.  Also clear the cache on your deployment server.  Also clear the deployment server cache.

    Please do the following:

    1. Download the MSI installer from the distribution5 page
    2. After the file downloads, right-click and select Properties
    3. Go to the Digital Signature tab
    4. Double-click on the signature item to display the Digital Signature Details
    5. What is the signing time of the digital signature?

Sorry, I overlooked your question about the background updater cab file.  This update method enables systems to be updated silently, in the background, without user interaction.   More information can be found in the Performing a background update section of the Flash Player Admin Guide.
