When told I already have Flash PLayer installed on 8.1,I still can't get video on ESPN et al

When told, on sites like ESPN I already have Flash Player installed on Windows 8.1, and after following the troubleshooting (tools-manage addons-etc.) I still don't get anywhere. Get video elsewhere.
