Hi,

I am using Windows XP, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.

My computer data are:

Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU

E 1400 @ 2.00 GHz

2.00 GHz, 896 MB RAM

Browser Mozilla Firefox (3.6.10), but have also downloaded Opera 10.62

ZoneAlarm Security Suite

Want to download the latest version of adobe FP (10.1) or 9.0. 115 or higher, preferably in German, but English is O.K. too.

Thanks a lot in advance!

One advice to everyone in the future installing Flash Player.

Allways preffer to dounload the FP file and install it manually. After that just restart the whole PC and it shouldn`t cause you any prpoblems with installing and runing FP.

Hi, well Adobe does have the German Forum that you can use. I can give you instructions in English here.

If I use a translator, I am not sure it would it would be exact. So I am going to use English.

    1. You must use the Administrator Account, the first Account you set up when you set up your computer.

    2. Disable any messenger services in your system tray(the area near the clock)

    3. Download the Uninstaller and SAVE it to your Desktop:

    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

    4. Download the Installer for Firefox and Opera and SAVE it to your Desktop:

    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe

Use Internet Explorer browsers and go to Tools, Click on Internet Options. Click on the Security Tab and set it to Medium for the Internet Zone.

Go to this Adobe site and look for the section that says: Download the Flash Player with the Manual Installer (in red text) DON'T DO ANYTHING. I just want you to look at the screenshot of the Installer there. This is what you will see when you Install. That small box will be hard to see, so I wanted you to see it now, so you will know you have to check it so the Install box will work.

Do you think Zone Alarm will block the Install of Flash Player? If so, you may want to Disable it until you are finished.

When you are ready to begin then Close all browsers except the one that you need to use. I hope these instructions are clear. If you have any questions before you start, just post (reply) back.

Also you may want to print out the instructions to make them easier to follow.

    Thanks,

Thanks a lot! You were really very heplful!

Now I have adobe FP installed! It was necessary to shut down my ZoneAlarm. FP plug-in is installed in my browser and under my software programs.

Unfortunately I still cannot view any video files with ZoneAlarm on. I suppose this is something I should manage myself. But if you have any idea ....

With Zone Alarm off I can view everything.

    Thank you once again!

Hello, very glad to hear that it worked for you, and you were able to follow the instructions

Now on Zone Alarm, I would look in the Firefox add ons, plugins and extensions and see if any are listed from Zone Alarm.

If so, I would disable them and see if that helps. They don't need to be running, since any can cause problems with your browser and Flash Player.

If you use adblock you may want to disable it, it blocks Flash.

Also what Anti-Virus do you use? Many will also install into the above and they cause problems.

Thanks, let me know what you find out.

    Something I've forgotten!

This is the message that I constantly receive when trying to install the FP with Firefox (please, see my previous post):

    Can't retrieve essential parameter (16291.301.749)

    Thanks!
