Why am I getting random pop-ups to upgrade my adobe flash player in firefox?

Here is the link that is in the browser: Please Update Adobe Flash Player

When it pops up it then proceeded a few seconds later with a file to download from here:http://secure.pn-installer4.com

I checked on netcraft.com and it says it is owned by Amazon. So I am a little confused why they would be asking for me to update. Does Amazon own Adobe?

When I looked it up I found sites calling it a pop-up virus and how to remove it. So I wanted to get the low-down from the creators.

Thanks in advance,

Robert

P.S.

Sorry if I put this in the wrong Community.

There is no such thing as "Flash Player Pro"; not from Adobe, nor from anybody else.

These pop-ups appears as the result of either

    • a malware infection on your system
    • a malware infection on a website you are visiting

It is very difficult to contact the creators of trojans, virusus, or other malware.

The Adobe legal team may be able to have these sites taken down, but it won't be long until they pop up again under a different name.

The best you can do is be vigilant, and keep your system clean.
