Why can't I download Adobe Flash Player?

When I try to watch a video from the Internet, it says that I must download Adobe Flash Player.  I tried that, but it does not work.  It acts like it is starting to download, but it just sits there forever.  I thought maybe it is because I already have Adobe Flash Player on my computer.  So I tried to uninstall it.  It popped up with a window that said that it would remove Flash Player.  So I clicked on Uninstall.  Then it said, "The installer will automatically continue when these conflicting applications are closed: "  Below that, it listed "Internet Explorer."

Help!  My email address is [removed]

You must close all applications that use Flash Player in order to complete the installation.  Use the Task Manager's Processes tab to end all iexeplore.exe processes.
